Warhawk Summer Up! was created with one purpose: to connect students and alumni from North Chicago with engaging summer experiences that will prepare them for life inside and outside the classroom.
Beginning with just 3 Community Partners serving 20 students in 2018, Summer Up! now matches more than 150 students with summer learning and work opportunities from more than 25 Commnity Partners.
Not only does Summer Up! identify opportunities that are enjoyable and meaningful, it removes the cost and transportation barriers that often prevent students from taking part. We believe that every qualified student deserves a chance to have new experiences and get ahead.
Best of all, our programs make a student’s summer really count– while still leaving plenty of room for enjoying downtime. Whether it’s a three-day outdoor program, week-long college visit, or six-week paid internship, Summer Up! participants still have plenty of time to enjoy summer vacation.
